MARTA – General Planning Contract

Services Provided:  Ridership Forecasting, Transit Planning, Network Redesign

Insight is part of a consultant team that is providing general planning support services to Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA). Insight will lead the travel demand modeling and ridership 

forecasting work on all the key corridors, provide service planning support, help in identifying travel markets that have high potential for transit usage, assist in Capital Investment Grant (CIG) analysis, travel data analysis services and supporting traffic and transit studies as needed by the team. 

Soon, Insight will be assisting the MARTA in the following projects:

1. Campbellton corridor: MARTA, in collaboration with the City of Atlanta, is investing in high-capacity transit in the Campbellton Corridor to improve connectivity, accessibility, and mobility in southwest Atlanta. MARTA proposes to implement fixed-guideway Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) service along a six-mile corridor. Insight will support the team in refining the service plan and O&M cost changes. Insight will also develop both the post-pandemic and pre-pandemic ridership forecasts, in support of CIG submission to FTA. 
2. Bus Network Redesign: MARTA is updating its bus network to better align with the priorities of Atlanta area residents and businesses and improve regional connectivity. Insight will support the team in developing a comprehensive implementation plan to support the launch of the redesigned bus network and associated infrastructure improvements. Insight will also work with MARTA staff to develop a new on-demand transit mode for implementation.
