Atlanta Regional Commission – Regional Activity-Based Travel

Services Provided:  Model Validation Support, Regional STOPS Model Support, Air Passenger Model Update, Data Visualization

Insight is part of a consultant team that is providing travel demand modeling technical support to Atlanta Regional Commission (ARC). The regional activity-based model (ABM) is being updated to a new base year of 2019/2020, considering pre-pandemic and post-pandemic travel conditions. The model will utilize ActivitySIM ABM platform.

 Insight is assisting the team in the following areas:

• Updating the Regional STOPS model to the latest STOPS version and providing technical support.
• Assisting in the calibration and validation of the regional activity-based model’s transit and highway assignment modules.
• Updating the Atlanta airport air passenger mode choice model.
• Refining the school location model to better reflect travel behavior of students attending large colleges such as Georgia Institute of Technology or Emory University.
• Assisting in review of multiple travel demand software packages.
• Developing visualization and mapping tools to summarize the ABM outputs.
